Usually, the neighboring farmers plant fields of wheat and soybeans, but this year it was sunflowers.

Our pasture and corrals sit right across the county road from the "sea of yellow."

I was contacted after these photos were posted to the web about visiting the sunflowers.

It turned out that a young man from the Tulsa area was wanting to propose to his girlfriend in a field of sunflowers.

Unfortunately, he had missed this year's crop and he would also have to call the neighboring farmer to see if it they would be planting the next year.

He was not detoured and the next Memorial day, he brought his whole family on a "planned" vacation to Missouri.

On the way home, they all just happened to drive by this beautiful field of sunflowers. She said "yes!"
